Conceived by Bob Fosse. Featuring music and lyrics by Neil Diamond, Jerry Jeff Walker, Johann Sebastian Bach, Edgard Varèse, Harry Warren, Bob Haggart, Ray Bauduc, Gil Rodin, Bob Crosby, Melissa Manchester, Jerry Leiber, Cat Stevens, Louis Prima, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, George M. Cohan, Sigmund Romberg, Felix Powell, John Philip Sousa, Ralph Burns, Johnny Mercer, Carole Bayer Sager, Mike Stoller, Cat Stevens, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Oscar Hammerstein II and George Asaf. The original Broadway production opened on 27 March 1978 and was directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse with additional choreography by Christopher Chadman. The production closed on 27 June 1982, running for a total of 1 774 performances.
